Summer Vibes
It’s been a summer filled with intentional swimming (ocean & lake), garden goodies, hiking, and a trip to Albany, NY to watch the crossfit games.
Good morning all,
I’ve been ignoring my calendar reminder to write a new post for weeks….it’s summer! It’s been a summer filled with intentional swimming (ocean & lake), garden goodies, hiking, and a trip to Albany, NY to watch the crossfit games.

In July Peter made the most delicious (and time consuming) sourdough hamburger buns…they were perfect. Fingers crossed he’ll be doing that again soon. We got a grill at the beginning of the summer and (surprisingly) have been using it at least weekly. Think: grilled zucchini, chicken, pizza, and burgers…just not all at the same time. It’s been a minimal year for peaches (last year we got 50+lbs, this year about 30 peaches total), so I’ve been relishing eating them with yogurt and granola.

As always, I’ve been cutting flowers from the garden each week to tuck in every corner of the house. This year that has mostly just been zinnias, but who cares! It’s still a joy to have fresh-fresh flowers all the time.

Tomorrow afternoon we are headed back up to MDI for a long weekend of early morning lake swimming, hiking, and some pizza grilling at my aunt’s house - a beloved and slighty chaotic yearly event.
My recent reads have not been recommendable….yikes what a string of mediocre books, hopefully I’ll have something decent to share on that front next time.
Wishing you all a lovely holiday weekend and a splendid final days of summer.
xxx, Frances
